Welcome to NForge. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the NForge website, the NForge Gym research platform, and any related tools (together, the "Service") operated by the NForge project ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using NForge Gym you represent that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction to (a) enter into contracts, (b) hold and transact in digital assets, and (c) participate in research activities involving behavioral data collection.

The Service is not available to residents of countries or regions subject to comprehensive sanctions administered by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) or equivalent authorities, including but not limited to Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions.

2. The Service

NForge is an open-source research framework for multimodal brain encoding. NForge Gym is a browser-based behavioral data collection platform that pays small amounts of SOL to contributors who opt in to play short cognitive tasks.

The core NForge framework is released under an open-source license and is provided "AS IS". NForge Gym is a separate hosted service operated by us and subject to the rules below.

3. Rewards and Payouts

When you play games through NForge Gym you may become eligible for a reward payment in SOL (Solana) to the wallet address you connect. Rewards are:

  • Discretionary. We reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue rewards at any time without notice.
  • Capped. Each wallet may earn no more than one reward per 24-hour UTC day, currently set at 0.01 SOL.
  • Conditional. Rewards are paid only after you contribute a minimum amount of qualifying gameplay and pass automated quality checks.
  • Non-refundable. Once sent on-chain, transactions cannot be reversed. You are responsible for providing a correct wallet address.
  • Not an investment. Rewards are compensation for opt-in research participation. They do not represent equity, securities, or any form of investment return.
IMPORTANT: SOL is a cryptocurrency with a fluctuating value. We make no representations about its current or future worth. You bear all risk associated with holding or disposing of any SOL received through the Service.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree that you will NOT:

  • Use bots, scripts, emulators, or any automated means to play games or generate heartbeats
  • Create multiple wallets to farm rewards or evade the daily cap (Sybil attacks)
  • Fabricate, spoof, or manipulate behavioral telemetry data
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Service to extract rewards fraudulently
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, our servers, or our network infrastructure
  • Use the Service to engage in any illegal activity or to facilitate money laundering or terrorist financing
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any other malicious code

We reserve the right to blacklist any wallet that we, in our sole discretion, determine to have violated these rules. Blacklisted wallets forfeit any pending rewards and cannot participate in the Service.

5. Wallet Connection and Signatures

To participate in NForge Gym you connect a Solana wallet and sign a text message proving ownership. We never request transaction approvals or access to your private keys. Payouts are sent TO your wallet — we never move funds out of it. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys.

6. Behavioral Data Collection

By playing games on NForge Gym you consent to the collection of anonymized behavioral features derived from your gameplay. These features (reaction times, mouse trajectories, facial landmark coordinates, voice pitch contours, etc.) are used solely for scientific research into the relationship between human behavior and brain activity.

All raw video and audio processing happens entirely in your browser. Raw media never leaves your device. Only numerical features are uploaded to our servers. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

7. Intellectual Property

The NForge framework source code is licensed separately under the terms shown in the repository. All other content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and game designs — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or distribute it without written permission.

You grant us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use the anonymized behavioral data you contribute for research purposes, including publication of aggregated findings.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party infrastructure including the Solana blockchain, Supabase (database), Netlify (hosting), Helius or comparable RPC providers, and MediaPipe (Google) for browser-based face tracking. Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms of these providers. We are not responsible for third-party outages, fees, or policy changes.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF DATA. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE U.S. DOLLAR OR (B) THE TOTAL VALUE OF REWARDS YOU HAVE RECEIVED THROUGH THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the NForge project, its contributors, and operators from any claim or demand arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Token Endorsement Disclosure

The NForge website may display or promote Solana-based tokens endorsed by the project for community support purposes. Any such endorsement is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice, a solicitation to buy or sell, or a representation of the token's current or future value. Digital assets are volatile and carry substantial risk of loss. Do your own research. Nothing on this website should be construed as financial, legal, or tax advice.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if we suspect a violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, and 14 survive termination.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be announced via the website or via the official NForge community channels.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the NForge project operators are resident, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding individual arbitration, not in a court of law, and you waive any right to participate in class actions.
